At times, I enjoy watching those shows on HGTV about people looking for new homes. I’ve always been struck by those homebuyers who use their loan to make extensive home rennovations. By the time some of the people get done with it, you have to wonder if the house is really worth the cost of the mortgage. It’s their dream home, but is it really worth it?
Apparently, a lot of home buyer’s have been asking themselves the same question. With the hard economic times, they are deciding to be more frugal. Smaller homes, with fewer frills are much more in demand. And, spaces like family rooms and dine-in kitchens are becoming much more important to home buyers.
What do you think is important today when shopping for a new place to call home?
