Stealing a Husband Can be Expensive

In North Carolina, a woman was awarded $9 million in a lawsuit against the woman she claimed ruined her marriage by stealing her husband. The legal term is “alienation of affection,” and simply refers to an individual wrongfully injecting themselves as a third party in a marriage with the result of one spouse losing the love, companionship (including sexual relations), or aid of the other spouse.

North Carolina is one of the few states that allow such cases. So, don’t run out and sue your spouse’s lover just yet.
